Everywhere in Mali you are accosted by beautiful children asking for money. Their reactions to a camera range from shy to curious to vain. This folder is named after a poem by a Venezuelan, Andrés Eloy Blanco, lamenting the absence of black angels in religious art, later sung by Eartha Kitt and, separately, Roberta Flack.
